Poma HanazonoPoma has built 2 new lifts at Hanazono Resort and I was honoured to be asked to help document there operations.
I Am NisekoWhat was once a thriving resort town, at its peak, is now in a strange semi hibernation… awaiting the return of tourists. This short film explores what Niseko might be feeling like if it were a person. It is not your average promotional film and intentionally a little dark and imperfect - just like a human being. It aims to reflect the emotions of the past year and even pull on heartstrings whilst still inspiring people to visit again, supporting our local community once the world normalises.
Rhythm Rail JamThe 2020 Rhythm Rail Jam Niseko was on fire. This was the most insane set up we have seen for the event and it made for some really creative skiing and boarding.Big ups to all the people who helped, the sponsors and the fans.Also, massive thanks to Rhythm Japan and Oyuki for putting this together. We can't see what is in store for next season.
GrinduroThe unique vibe that is Grinduro needs a unique location, and in Australia the incredible landscape of the Bogong High Plains is pretty unique! Situated next to the crystalline blue waters of the Rocky Valley Lake and surrounded by knotted snow gums, this alpine wonderland is draped with cool mountain rainforest and dotted with huts on it’s peaks. Nestled on the top is the iconic Alpine Resort of Falls Creek. Already known as a cycling hot spot and the home of one of the toughest climbs in Australia; Falls Creek harbours a raft of exquisite gravel tracks, winding aqueducts and 40km of flowing MTB single track. Oh and did we mention the gravel road to the top of the highest drivable peak in Australia?
Falls Creek is OpenFalls Creek is Open! Across the state lock downs have been lifted for regional Victorians and Falls Creek is open for activities.
Falls Creek Winter Sign-offThe season that wasn’t! After a rough start, closure, pandemic, low snow and lock downs the resort is signing off for Winter 2020.
FALLS CREEK - BUSINESS AS UNUSUALThe season that wasn't. That is pretty much the most accurate way to sum up winter at Falls Creek in 2020. Unfortunately due to constantly changing Covid restrictions the resort was unable to reach its full potential this year. Instead it was business as unusual.
